+: The one bedroom apartment was a good size. The included breakfast is great. The staff are honestly just gorgeous people to be around. Everyone was kind to us, and especially to the kids. There's not many places where you would turn around during check-in and see staff members chatting and colouring in alongside your children. This hotel was lovely to stay in because it feels very safe and welcoming.
-: We arrived super early, which we knew in advance would be an issue. At our previous IHG Staybridge hotel in Financial Centre we arrived super early but staff let us check in early as we had been travelling for a long time with two kids. At the risk of sounding like an entitled parent, I was a bit surprised that the staff at this hotel informed us that our room was ready when we arrived (about 6 or 7am) but to check in we would need to pay an extra fee. Again, I know it's the policy, but every other hotel in Dubai has allowed us to check in early, especially after flying in from Australia, and especially with little kids. Not necessarily their fault, just surprising was all. I obviously didn't pay the extra fee because I'm cheap like that, and they did let us check into our room at 11am which is still earlier than the normal check-in time. So that was nice. The entrance from the Metro side of the hotel ONLY has stairs, no ramp entrance. I asked the reception staff if there was another entrance as I was pushing my baby in a pram and it is a safety risk to drag a pram up and down stairs... They advised me that no, there is no step-free access. There is an alternative entrance but it's not accessible from the front (Metro-side of the hotel). I find it a bit bizarre that a hotel in 2024 would lack accessibility to their main entrance. The booking.com description also specifically lists that this hotel is wheelchair accessible. This is ONLY the case if you are arriving by car. The Dubai Metro is wheelchair accessible, ergo I would expect to be able to arrive at my hotel the same way from the Metro. Yes I know this is first world problems and the world does not revolve around the comfort of my children. But just something to keep in mind if you do happen to be travelling with small children.
