+: For sure one of the best places to stay in Goreme! The room I got, while not a cave room, was still pleasant, clean, and comfortable. The staff were very friendly and showed me all around and even let me peek into one of the cave rooms. The breakfast was lovely, and the rooftop terrace was fantastic. Overall, this is one of the best places to stay in Goreme, if you can afford it.
-: Overall I had a fantastic stay, but here is some feedback to work on: In my room, the window in the bathroom was very high and was already open. I couldn't reach it, so it stayed open, meaning the call to prayer could be heard very loudly in the room very early in the morning. I had ear plugs, so it wasn't the worst, but I can imagine others might get annoyed at this so it might be best to just keep that very high window closed? It wasn't super clear to me that there were rooms at the hotel that were NOT cave rooms. Since it's called Zara Cave Hotel, I kind of thought all rooms were cave rooms, and I was a little disappointed to realise mine was just an ordinary room, despite also being quite expensive. While the staff were friendly, they pried a little too much into my travel plans. I stayed a few nights in Goreme before and after this stay, because I simply couldn't afford to stay every night here in Zara. Upon checkin, the staff asked when I had arrived, then kept asking me where I had stayed previously. I said the View hotel. They didn't recognise it, but instead of moving on, they kept pressing the matter - are you sure it was called that? Where is it? etc etc. Like, just check me in please, I didn't pay this amount of money for you to grill me on my travel plans! I think the price is quite high, especially considering the chance of the balloons not flying and, in fact, the terrace not being open at all when this happens. Personally, I didn't get to see the balloons from the terrace, so I kind of splurged for no reason. Having said this, if you have the money to stay at this hotel for 3 or 4 days in a row (to guarantee seeing the balloons) then definitely go for it because it is a beautiful place.
